Will Gaddar take part in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra?

Will Maoist supporter and balladeer Gaddar aka Gummadi Vithal Rao walk with Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo yatra? Indications are that he might. Interestingly, Gaddar himself told senior Congress leader and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka that he would join Rahul Gandhi when he entered Telangana as part of his nation-wide yatra.

Gaddar met Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday to  highlight his demand to rename the newly constructed parliament building after Babasaheb Ambedkar. He appealed to Mallu to use his influence to press for the renaming. During this meeting, interesting conversation ensued between the two leaders. Gaddar is  known Maoist supporters and is famed for his leftist songs that inspired many to join the Maoist movement.

During the conversation, Mallu invited him to join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo yatra. Gaddar agreed to the suggestion and offered to walk with Rahul Gandhi after he entered Telangana.  Later, Mallu also asked him to contest the Lok Sabha elections on the Congress ticket. Gaddar readily agreed to the proposal. Former MLC Premsagar Rao asked him to contest from Peddapalli Lok Sabha seat.

Gaddar aka Gummadi Vithal Rao has been on a temple visit spree of late. Recently, he visited the Yadadri temple. Significantly, he wore a black two-piece suit while visiting the temple. He has also visited Bhadrachalam Sri Rama temple and sang bhajans in praise of Sri Sitaramaswamy.
